Levitt, East Hill Park project on schedule and budget

YORK — The massive project at Levitt Stadium/East Hill Park remains ongoing — there is a lot happening.

The turf project is underway. There will be dugout improvements, bleacher improvements, as well.

The tennis courts are being redone.

The East Hill play area will soon have a new playground.

“I just talked to Cheree (Folts, parks and recreation director for the City of York) before this meeting,” York City Administrator Sue Crawford told the city council this week. “And the great news is that all the work at Levitt is on schedule and on budget.”

The $2.9 million project is part of a larger bond issue approved by the city. The project will be paid for with money generated by the city’s LB357 sales tax.

Mammoth Sports Construction LLC is the contractor for the turf work.
