York Police Department says problems continue in park bathrooms

YORK — A couple of weeks ago, city park workers found two park restrooms had been vandalized to the point they had to be closed to the public. One of those restrooms had even been started on fire at some point. York County Crime Stoppers continues to offer a reward for information leading to the arrest of the person or people responsible for those vandalism situations.

Even with those two restrooms closed, it appears problems still continue in the others.

The York Police Department reports, “Due to the ongoing criminal investigation into the vandalism of the public restrooms in York, our officers have increased patrol in these areas. During last night’s patrol, one of our officers located a men’s bathroom where feces were in the urinal and the toilet was overflowed with toilet paper and feces. We would like to remind the public that these bathrooms are maintained by our city employees. Please be mindful of this and be courteous to the employees who have to clean and maintain these bathrooms after incidents such as this.”
