Seward County deputies seize $7.2 million worth of crystal meth

SEWARD COUNTY – During a traffic stop on Interstate 80, deputies with the Seward County Sheriff’s Department seized 200 pounds of crystal methamphetamine, estimated to have a street value of more than $ 7.2 million.

According to the Seward County Sheriff’s Department, a deputy with the county’s interdiction task force initiated a traffic stop of a Toyota Highlander for a traffic violation on Interstate 80.

During the traffic stop, the deputy “became increasingly suspicious the driver, the sole occupant, was involved in criminal activities. A K9 was deployed for an exterior sniff of the SUV. As a result, a probable cause search of the SUV was conducted. During a search of the vehicle, the deputy located a trash bag and three totes which contained crystal methamphetamine.

Sergio D. Jaimezazueta, 44, of Stockton, California was taken into custody without incident.

He was turned over to federal authorities for further court action.
