YPD, YFD responds to small fire under Lincoln Avenue bridge

YORK – The York Police Department and York Fire Department responded to a call about a small fire under the Lincoln Avenue bridge in the 300 Block.

According to York Police Department Captain Russ Coffey, “at 8:43 p.m., on Sunday, April 21, a community member called the York County Communications Center, regarding a small fire under the bridge at the 300 Block of South Lincoln Avenue. York Police and York Fire responded to the report and located a small fire under the bridge on South Lincoln Ave. York Fire quickly extinguished the fire while police officers attempted to locate the persons or person who was responsible. A couple hours later, officers located the responsible person and based upon circumstances, they decided to educate the person on city ordinances and fire safety.”

No one was injured and there was no public damage and no one was injured.
