Turf project in full swing at East Hill Park

YORK — Those who drive by East Hill Park will see how the major turf installation project there is in full swing.

The $2.9 million project is part of a larger bond issue approved by the city. The project will be paid for with money generated by the city’s LB357 sales tax.

As earlier explained by York Parks and Recreation Director Cheree Folts, “There will be excavation needed and the project will include new football bleachers as well as a new exterior fence. We will get new baseball dugouts. It’s a neat project for the city, the school and the university. It’s hard to provide maintenance to a facility which never sleeps as it is constantly in use — this turf will really help.”
