Parks and Recreation spring community sale approaching

YORK – The spring edition of the York Community Sale is quickly approaching.

Cheree Folts, director of the York Parks and Recreation Department, says the spring community sale will be held Saturday, May 4, at the York City Auditorium, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

This is an opportunity for individuals to have a “garage sale” with others as well, indoors, with a large crowd in attendance and plenty of marketing ahead of time.

The Parks and Recreation Department hosts this event in the spring and fall.

Folts says each booth – measuring 12×12 feet with three eight-foot tables – costs $20. She added how space for vendors is still available – go to to register for a space.

Booths have to be reserved no later than Wednesday, May 1.

Another great aspect of the community sale is the following offering — if a vendor doesn’t want to haul their unsold items home, they do not have to as the items can be left there to be donated.

Each community sale has been growing larger than the last, so registering soon is recommended.
