YORK – A property, which had earlier been condemned by the city and later the house torn down and the lot cleaned up, is now back on the tax rolls.

This week, Dan Aude asked for the residential lot in the area of 18th Street and York Avenue to be sold.

“This is property we are not using,” said Mayor Barry Redfern.

Aude said, yes, that was the case.

“After going through the lengthy process, the city came in and took down the dilapidated house,” Aude explained. “The city has owned this lot for a while.”

Now a private individual wants to purchase the property.

The price of the lot was determined to be $9,000.

The council agreed to sell it.

“It’s a good thing that this property will now be back on the tax rolls,” Mayor Redfern said.
