Local writers to have their one-acts showcased on Yorkshire stage

YORK – This Thursday, March 28, and Friday, March 29, the Yorkshire Playhouse One-Act Showcase will showcase plays by local writers.

The two-night event will feature the winning shows from the 2022 and 2023 Playwriting Contests.

“Macrame Owls and Matsutake Mushrooms,” written by Daniel L. Wolff, is a “contemplative piece about members of the Critics Anonymous Support Group. The witty, fast-paced dialogue drives the show toward its thought-provoking conclusion.”

In “Ghosts,” written by Raima Kreifels and Lily Houston, “five female ghostwriters are invited to a mysterious island, where they are forced to write Julius Henker’s autobiography. When this writing project takes a murderous turn, who will survive?”

Reservations can be made online or at the door for the 7:30 p.m. performances.
