Defendant sent to York County Jail for attempted possession of controlled substance

YORK – Jaquan Darden, 27, of Omaha, has been sentenced to six months in the York County Jail for attempted possession of a controlled substance.

He was sentenced this past week in York County District Court by Judge James Stecker.

Darden was arrested following a traffic stop on Interstate 80 near the Bradshaw exit.

During a search of his vehicle, troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol found THC wax.

He was initially charged with a Class 4 felony but that was amended to a Class 1 misdemeanor, as part of a plea agreement.

This week he was sentenced to jail. There was no fine or other requirements.
