York woman to be sentenced for meth possession

YORK – This past week, in York County District Court, Hollie Deffenbaugh, 40, of York, pleaded no contest to felony possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor tampering with evidence.

The case began when officers with the York Police Department served arrest warrants on two people in York – Jenifer Groom and Emmett Groom. According to court documents, Deffenbaugh was there with them.

Officers said Deffenbaugh identified a specific room as being hers and she granted permission for them to search her belongings. During that search, officers found a straw containing .57 grams of meth; a smoking device with one gram of meth; a straw holding .1 gram of meth; a glass jar of concentrated THC; and a flashlight holding .67 grams of methamphetamine.

During further search of the residence, they also found a scale with methamphetamine and 1.26 grams of meth in the kitchen.

The residence was located less than 1,000 feet from a daycare center.

She is facing a possible maximum sentence of two years in prison with 12 months of post-release supervision.

Sentencing has been set for May 21.
