York city sales tax comes in slightly lower than last February, but still over $400,000

YORK – The city sales tax revenue for February came in slightly lower than was seen last February, but the total figure was still over $400,000 which has been a continuing trend since last year.

For the month of February, the city took in $409,547, compared to $453,204 last year. But this was still the second highest total for a February since the local sales tax began.

In this fiscal year, so far (which began in October), the city has taken in just over $2 million in sales tax revenue.

In the last 12 months, the city has collected just over $5 million.

For the month of February, the city took in $136,515 in LB 357 funds, which are earmarked for specific, special projects.

The sales tax revenues in February reflect transactions which took place in December.
