Annexation ordinance gets first reading

YORK – The York City Council has given an ordinance, petitioning for the annexation of land by the interchange, its first reading.

The ordinance is set to have three readings before approval will be on the table. The council also has the option to suspend the rules after the second reading and act at that time, if they choose.

The petition seeking annexation of property was filed by GARK Homes LLC.

Mayor Barry Redfern said this annexation pertains to land located near the campgrounds and Wendy’s.

The matter will be brought up again on the council’s next agenda.
