New East Hill playground equipment has arrived

YORK – The equipment that will be used to construct a brand new, state-of-the-art playground at East Hill Park has arrived.

The playground equipment will be paid for through the use of LB 357 funds, which are generated by a special ½-cent sales tax in the city.

The Play and Park Structures company will be putting up the new equipment at Eat Hill Park, with a price tag of $78,785. The installation will cost another $62,000. The city council budgeted $150,000 for this project.

As earlier explained by York Parks and Recreation Director Cheree Folts, this “is to the replace the very old playground equipment there, which has been red-flagged,” meaning the old features which are at East Hill do not meet today’s safety standards.
