Black Hills Energy to start utility work Monday

YORK — According to the administrative offices for the City of York, Black Hills Energy will be conducting work within the city right-of-way along Blackburn Avenue between Third and Ninth Streets to relocate gas utilities. This work is scheduled to begin Monday, Feb. 12.

This will be a multi-week construction project to relocate natural gas service lines along Blackburn Avenue to prepare for street replacement work to commence in the spring. As work progresses, contractors working with Black Hills Energy will contact customers to schedule temporary service interruption. Black Hills Energy will have team members on site to oversee the work and ensure the safety of the project. The city and Black Hills Energy encourage anyone who thinks they smell natural gas to follow the appropriate steps to guarantee their safety: leave the area and then call 911 or Black Hills Energy’s emergency line once at a safe location 888-890-5554.
