This award is given annually to recognize Chamber businesses for their longevity and impact in the community.

Fillman Law Offices celebrated 65 years in York in 2023. Both Steve and Gordon Fillman served as active-duty attorneys in the Navy Judge Advocate General’s corps.

Those who nominated Fillman Law said, “Gordon Fillman has been a pillar in the York community for years and is now retired. He has served countless customers and clients through his law firm. He has started several York-based businesses and he has significantly given his time, energy, money and resources to multiple York organizations for decades.”

Both men have been active in the York community.

Gordon won the longevity award for York Rotary and Steve has been a longtime member, serving as Rotary president in 2022.

Steve is on the York Community Foundation Board as was Gordon for a number of years.

Gordon served on the Greenwood Cemetery Association Board.

Steve, along with teacher/coach Jane Brogan, was York High School’s Mock Trial coach for 10 years – with the team winning district championships and going to state in nine of 10 seasons. At least three of his mock trial students (including his daughter who is an attorney in Washington DC) went on to begin law careers.

Gordon has been found on the Epworth Village Foundation Board and the Kilgore Memorial Library Foundation Board.

Steve’s wife, Karen, co-founded the York Area Children’s Museum, is on the York Parks and Recreation Board and she does jail ministry through the Living Water Rescue Mission.

It was also noted how Karla Wullenwaber has been “an invaluable executive assistant and paralegal at Fillman Law Offices” for 39 years.
