A Paws For Pets — A home for the holidays

By Nicci Lawrence, York Adopt A Pet

With Christmas fast approaching, we would like to shine a spotlight on some very special cats who would really like to have a loving forever home soon. These three lovely ladies have been at the shelter for a very long time and will require extra special and patient adopters.

Brooke was a stray from the Gresham area who was brought to York Adopt A Pet in March of 2021 by a very kind lady. Soon after arriving, she gave birth to five kittens. She was a wonderful mother to her kittens and happily they were all adopted, but she is still waiting for a home. Brooke has a beautiful black coat and is a very shy girl. Once she gets to know you, she can be very affectionate but will need a quiet home with someone who is patient and willing to earn her trust. Brooke is five years old and has been at the shelter for over 2 ½ years.

Gussie is a gorgeous gray and white tabby with the prettiest green eyes. She was adopted from York Adopt A Pet as a kitten and lived with that family for seven years. The family moved and left Gussie behind. She was found by a kind person who realized she had been abandoned. Because of her past, she is very cautious about trusting humans. She will need a forever home where her family is willing to move at Gussie’s pace to help her overcome her fear. She is 10 years old and has been at the shelter for almost four years. Gussie needs to be the only cat in her new home.

Moo Shoo is a petite buff and white tabby. She was adopted as a kitten and returned to the shelter when her human could no longer care for her. She is a talker and loves attention. She would love to have a forever home where she could be the only cat and be treated like the queen she is! Moo Shoo is 8 ½ and has been at the shelter for over two years.

These three lovely girls have caught the attention of Santa and Mrs. Claus and we recently received a message straight from the North Pole how they would like to sponsor the adoptions of these three cats. All adoption fees will be covered so these very special girls can finally find the forever homes they deserve.
