Nebraska’s Christmas Tree — from York County — is decorated and on display

YORK – The beautiful Blue Spruce, grown in York County and donated to the state by the Upper Big Blue Natural Resource District, is all decorated and open for viewing by the public.

The 25-year-old tree, grown by the NRD, is 20 feet tall. It was selected among the trees submitted from around the state.

It was transported to the state capitol last week, decorated and then unveiled during a lighting ceremony held last Sunday.

York County’s contribution is standing proud in the rotunda and will through Dec. 28.

Upper Big Blue NRD General Manager David Eigenberg posed for photos with Governor Jim Pillen following the official lighting.

This year’s lighting ceremony was the 75th in the state’s history.
