Local high school students attend CVA sessions on careers in ag

YORK — Local high school students spent Wednesday, Dec. 6, at the Holthus Convention Center in York with representatives of Central Valley Ag (CVA) to learn more about a future in the agricultural arena.

More than 100 teenagers took part in group sessions as well as break-out groups regarding a number of different fields within the ag umbrella.

They heard from CVA personnel and leadership, who shared their experiences, gave career advice and talked about the vast number of agricultural-related opportunities teens have when looking at their futures.

Included were outdoor sessions involving the latest farming technology and equipment.

During their noon meal, kids learned about the value-added aspect of agriculture, as well.

CVA conducts these careers in ag sessions throughout the year in the various communities within CVA’s footprint.
