Parade route, street closures announced for Heart of Holidays event

YORK – The parade route and subsequent street closures for the upcoming Heart of the Holidays event have been announced.

City offices have released a map and street designations for everyone to keep in mind on that day.

It was noted that in the parade staging area, intersections will not be blocked so traffic can continue to flow on side streets.

The accompanying map shows the routes and closure areas:

  • Purple: Street closure starting at 8 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 9, through Sunday, Dec. 10, at 9 p.m. This will be on Nebraska Avenue from Sixth Street to Seventh Street.
  • Red: Street closures starting at 1 p.m., on Sunday, Dec. 10, through 8 p.m. This will be on Sixth Street from North Grant Avenue to North Burlington Avenue.
  • Orange: Parade staging area on east side of street. There will be no parking from noon until 6 p.m., on Sunday, Dec. 10. This will be on Nebraska Avenue from First to Sixth Street.
  • Yellow: Parade route. There will be no parking from 3 p.m. until 6:30 p.m., on Sunday, Dec. 10. This will be on Nebraska Avenue from Seventh Street to Ninth Street.
