Blue Spruce grown in York County will be 2023 Nebraska Capitol Christmas tree

YORK – This year’s Nebraska Capitol Christmas tree is a 25-year-old Blue Spruce grown in York County.

It is being provided as a gift to the state by the Upper Big Blue Natural Resource District (NRD).

It was an original seedling from Halsey Nursery, according to the NRD.

The 20-foot tree is being transported to the capitol building where it will be decorated and displayed throughout the holiday season in the rotunda. A public lighting ceremony will be held on Sunday, Dec. 10, at 2 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
