York Fire Department has busy Sunday morning

YORK – The York Fire Department – and the agencies assisting them – had a busy Sunday morning today, Nov. 26.

YFD representatives said at 6:33 a.m., they were dispatched to a rollover accident with injuries at mile marker 357 on Interstate 80. Taken to the scene were the heavy rescue truck, engine and squad, as extrication and patient care was required.

Then at 6:40 a.m., the department was dispatched to a medical call for which another squad was needed.

Then at 7:29 a.m., the department was dispatched to the report of hay bales on fire north of the Holthus Convention Center and south of Sahling Kenworth. Two tankers were required for that response.

The department said in a statement, “Thank you to the Waco Volunteer Fire Department and Hitz Towing for their assistance on this busy morning. Also thank you to all the volunteers who assisted – we cannot do this alone.”
