Blackburn near high school now open

YORK — The stretch of Blackburn Avenue, near York High School, has been under construction for some time.

But as of noon on Friday, it has reopened.

York Public Works Director James Paul said Friday morning he and contractors did a final walk-through.

This is another stretch of street in the City of York to undergo major renovation this year, as a multi-million-dollar bond issue has allowed to happen.

The bond issue was instituted last year, when interest rates were still at a historic low.
