City building permits indicate hail storm repair continues more than one year after the storm

YORK – Repair work continues in the city of York, as a result of the June hail storm in 2022.

Yes, even more than a year later, there are still homes and businesses that haven’t been fully restored.

Not only is it evident the repair work continues, due to the sight of crews at work, there are also building permits indicating there’s still work to do.

In September, the city saw 34 building permits filed for work that still needs to be done.

Those still continue to come in, even though thousands of properties have already been fixed or at least the building permits have been filed.

The building permits for the month of September came in at $1.5 million in value, with the majority of it being for re-roofing, re-siding, window and door repair, stemming from the June, 2022 hail storm.

In the September permits, there was one for a new home, with a value of $500,000.
