It’s time for hydrant flushing

Fire Hydrant in York, NE

YORK – City crews are in the process of doing the regular fall work of flushing hydrants.

This is done each spring and fall and is performed during evening hours.

Work crews will be using City of York vehicles and wearing City of York uniforms, so if residents see them doing this work they can rest assured this is official work.

Residents might notice discolored water and low pressure during the process, according to the public works department.

The water remains very safe to drink.  The work will take about three weeks.
