Details released about serious accident at Road 2 and Road N, injuring Allen Clark and Hunter Nebe

YORK COUNTY – Details have been released about a serious accident which took place Sunday, Oct. 1, in which a McCool man and a Geneva man were seriously injured.

According to the York County Sheriff’s Department, at approximately 11:48 a.m., Sunday, “York County Emergency Communications received a crash detection alert via an Apple iPhone, notifying authorities of a possible car crash. York County deputies responded to the intersection of Road 2 and Road N and located a two-vehicle injury accident involving a semi-truck and trailer and a Dodge pick-up.

“The initial investigation by deputies indicate that a northbound 1996 Dodge Ram pick-up driven by 20-year-old Hunter Nebe of Geneva failed to stop at a stop sign located at the intersection and was struck by a westbound 2006 white International semi-truck driven by 65-year-old Allen Clark of McCool Junction. Deputies on scene provided life-saving measures to both occupants involved in the crash, both of which were ejected from their respective vehicles. Due to the severity of injuries, Nebe was life-flighted to Bryan LGH West in Lincoln. Clark was transported via ambulance to York General Hospital and then to Bryan LGH West.”

York County Sheriff’s deputies were assisted by McCool Junction Fire and Rescue and York Fire and Rescue. The accident remains under investigation, according to the sheriff’s department.

The current condition of the injured parties was not released.
