Sixth Street construction work to start this morning, Sept. 13

6th Street Construction

YORK — Starting this morning, Sept. 13, a section of Sixth Street will be closed for utility relocation and street reconstruction.

According to the York Public Works Department, construction crews will close Sixth Street from Nebraska Avenue to East Avenue.

The closure of that section is estimated to last for four weeks.

Detour routes will be set up on Fifth Street and Seventh Street, according to the city offices.

Residents are asked to park on side streets as residential driveways from Sixth Street, in the construction zone, will not be accessible during the street removal and construction.

Locations for garbage pickup and mail delivery are illustrated on flyers which were posted at affected residences.
