September 11 remembered

To me and I’m sure everyone else, it’s amazing that it’s been 22 years since Sept. 11.

The Sept. 11.

The one none of us will ever forget.

It simply goes without saying.

But this morning, as I drove down Grant Avenue, my breath was taken away all over again as I saw the big aerial truck outside the York Fire Department with the giant American flag waving in the wind. It suddenly reminded me of that morning and all that has come since.

I thought about all the people who lost their lives and all the first responders who gave up their lives (and since due to residual effects) to save others.

I parked and looked at the fire department’s flag. It was quiet out. But every motorist who passed by slowed down and I’m sure thought about the same.

Sept. 11.

We will never forget.
