CASA Duck Race raises money to help foster kids

YORK – The York County CASA Duck Race was a big success this year, raising money to help foster kids in the quest to find them safe and permanent homes.

CASA volunteers and the York Chamber of Commerce sold duck tickets at $5 apiece, with the buyers having the opportunity to win cash prizes.

The ducks were released into a slide at the York Aquatic Center and after they burst onto the water surface, they were monitored to see which would cross the finish line first. Those doing so were checked for identification and the owners of those ducks won cash prizes.

The proceeds from the annual fundraiser will be used for court-appointed advocacy and local foster programs.
