Arraignment held for man caught with stolen vehicle

YORK – Arraignment proceedings were held for Mikale Stanley, 25, of Omaha, who was allegedly caught with a stolen vehicle in York County.

He pleaded not guilty to theft by receiving stolen property with a value of $1,500, a Class 4 felony, and driving during revocation/impoundment, a Class 2 misdemeanor.

A jury trial has been set for late November.

The case began when deputies with the York County Sheriff’s Department were enroute to a separate call and they “came into contact with a Chevrolet Impala. After conducting a check on the license plate, it was found the vehicle was reported stolen in Adams County,” according to the court affidavit.

The vehicle was located at the 2500 Block of North Delaware Avenue and a traffic stop was initiated. The driver, who was identified as Stanley, was arrested.

It was also found his driver’s license was suspended/revoked.

Stanley is a convicted felon with a prior possession of stolen property convictions in Nebraska. They also found he had an active warrant in Douglas County for possession of a controlled substance.
