Geneva bank robbed, authorities looking for suspect

GENEVA – According to a news release from the Fillmore County Sheriff’s Department, authorities are looking for a man who allegedly robbed the Heartland Bank in Geneva shortly before 2:45 p.m., Tuesday.

According to the sheriff’s department, the man walked into the bank and handed the bank teller a note demanding money.

The release said the man was wearing a red and white ball cap, black long-sleeved sweatshirt and blue jeans. He is described as being between 5 feet, 8 inches tall and six feet tall. He was described by a teller as being of stocky build. He was last seen driving west on G Street in Geneva in a newer model black Chevrolet mid-sized SUV.

A surveillance photo has been supplied by authorities, in an attempt to gain information about his identity.

The sheriff’s department said bank employees turned over an undisclosed amount of money to the man, who did not display a weapon.

Authorities have searched the area but didn’t find the suspect.
